I see you through my illusions.
Thoughts and illusion.
When I look at you, what I see is me.
I hold onto my thoughts of the past and future in my left hand. I look at the figure to my right, who is present in stillness, but I don't see him. All I see is a reflection of me. My thoughts define the figure from my own experience and interpretations, creating a version born from my illusions.
My thoughts define me and what I see.
This painting was inspired by the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh, a Zen Buddhist monk.
