Witnessing my thoughts
If I can be still, I become a presence which is not defined by my thoughts.
It is a presence with no concept of self, no attachments and no suffering.
It is freedom.
I am struggling at the moment with the idea of ‘no self’ but I think the concept does not mean we do not exist as individuals, but that we can also exist as one consciousness. We tend to let the idea of being an individual self take over our lives. Letting thoughts go seems to take us into a state of no self, no attachments and hence no suffering.
While writing this, I was listening to a David Bowie song which seems very appropriate...
