Letting go of self.

Letting go of self.
I am interested in the Buddhist concept of 'no self', or being empty of a separate identity. It does not mean that nothing exists, but that we are all constantly changing, all connected and all inter-dependent. It embraces the idea that everything is impermanent, and the 'you' a week ago is different from the 'you' of today. If we see the world as separate independent identities, then we don't see the world as it truly is. I find the idea liberating, as we are all a part of everything and everything is constantly changing. Death and 'attachments' all become meaningless, while love, happiness and kindness become our only true possessions. Understanding impermanence seems to be the start, which is the theme behind this drawing.
