Balance

The Sri Yantra is said by many to be the most powerful of all yantras or ancient sacred symbols and geometry. The symbol, when contemplated in depth, can help to balance the energies in the chakras, manifest dreams, and bring about spiritual development.

The Yantra consists of nine interlocking triangles which symbolize masculinity (pointing downwards) and femininity (pointing upwards). These create and represent a balance in the universe, which echoes Chinese philosophical concepts of yin and yang.

In the drawing the figure is contemplating the Sri Yantra. He is looking within and seeking stillness, balance and peace. When I did this drawing I was also thinking of Climate Change .... “We but mirror the world. All the tendencies present in the outer world are to be found in the world of our body. If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. This is the divine mystery supreme. A wonderful thing it is and the source of our happiness. We need not wait to see what others do.” – Mahatma Gandhi
